Hurricane Simon Drifts 245 Miles From Cabo, Big Swell and Bisbee's On

Tuesday, October 13Watch on YouTube

Tonight's report

¡Buenas noches, Los Cabos! Lobo here, live from the rock, and tonight's show is presented by True Tide AI. Hurricane Simon is spinning off the mainland, so let's get into it.

Okay amigos, tropics first.

As of the five o'clock advisory, Hurricane Simon is a Category one with ninety mile an hour winds, about two hundred forty-five miles southeast of us, west of Cabo Corrientes. It's a tiny hurricane, drifting west at just two miles an hour.

The Hurricane Center expects it to wander slowly for a couple of days, then turn north late this week and weaken. That could bring it closer to Baja California Sur up the Gulf of California, but the possible tracks are still all over the place.

A Hurricane Watch is up for Las Islas Marías. Simon could bring one to two inches of rain, isolated three, over parts of Baja California Sur, Nayarit and Sinaloa by Friday.

So no panic, just pay attention. Watch for new alerts and follow Protección Civil.

Way down south, Tropical Storm Trudy has forty mile an hour winds, about twelve hundred miles away, and the Hurricane Center expects it to become a major hurricane by Friday.

Now, mañana here at home.

Wednesday brings showers, a high of eighty-nine, a low of seventy-four, and a light east-northeast breeze around six miles an hour. Water's eighty-six degrees. Thursday and Friday stay showery, with highs of ninety-one and ninety-two.

Hot and a little wet, amigos.

Now, surf!

NOAA's wave model shows about seven point seven feet at seventeen seconds from the west-northwest tomorrow morning, and it's dropping. The Corridor shows the most, seven point two feet at sixteen seconds. Those are offshore model numbers, not what's breaking at the beach, so check your spot.

That's big water. If it's over your head, stay on the sand and watch for rip currents.

Fishing is brought to you by East Cape Concierge, eastcapeconcierge.com, your fishing charter crew for tournament week.

Water's eighty-six, and tomorrow night is a waxing crescent, twelve days to the full moon. The wind looks light in the morning, but with that big swell out there, it won't be flat.

Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore is on now out of the Cabo San Lucas marina, with the evening action at the scales, and Black and Blue starts in six days.

True Tide AI, built right here in Los Cabos, answers your calls, texts and web chats in seconds, books the appointment and follows up, even in the middle of the night. Find them at truetideai.com.

That's the tide report. Stay safe, look out for each other. Sal y sol, Cabo.
